Driven by our desire for sonic excellence, Sensible have installed the latest Protools 10 and 11 with the latest generation of HDX I/O hardware, complementing our outstanding legacy Apogee 8000 AD/DA’s.
Sensible Music studios remains at the forefront of hybrid workflows combining the superb Euphonix 2500 digitally controlled analogue recording console with the latest Avid Protools system with an extensive library of plugins from Waves, UAD and many others.
Many studios today try to merge high-end analogue consoles with digital recording technology but Sensible Music is one of the few that allows this merger of technologies to offer the range of mix recall that only the Euphonix can allow. Digital snapshots of console status can be recalled in microseconds thus resetting every element of analogue EQ, dynamics and level on the console, days, weeks or months after a session, emulating the degree of flexibility normally only available when mixing ‘in the box’. At Sensible you can have that standard of flexibility and work with a hybrid analogue and digital audio chain.
Additional analogue hardware reflect the standard that Sensible Music clients have come to expect with outboard gear by UREI, Fairchild (2 x 670 valve limiters!), SSL, DBX, Lexicon, Yamaha, AMS and most of the big names from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. Not to mention one of the tastiest microphone cupboards anywhere.
Our studio and control room were designed by Roger D'Arcy at Recording Architecture, one of the most respected designers of recording and sound studios in the world.
Monitoring is via a custom PMC 5.1 system with additional subs and management.
Sensible Music has always been known as a studio where the most exacting standards of sound meet the creative needs of our clients. Our upgrade to the latest Protools maintains that relationship and ensures that clients can deliver the finest recordings possible.
